What we assess

Six criteria, each scored 1 to 9

Every audit covers six dimensions. The first five apply the published standards of the selected donor framework. The sixth checks how well your proposal actually responds to the specific call it was written for: the RFP, ToR, EoI, or grant guidelines you upload alongside it.

1–9

Evaluation design

Logic model coherence, theory of change clarity, and measurability of indicators.

1–9

Feasibility

Realism of the timeline, budget-activity alignment, and team capability evidence.

1–9

Ethics

Data protection provisions, informed consent procedures, and safeguarding measures.

1–9

Stakeholder engagement

Participation strategy, beneficiary voice mechanisms, and partner coordination plan.

1–9

Learning integration

Adaptive management provisions, knowledge-sharing plan, and evidence use commitments.

📄
What counts as a call document?

Request for Proposal (RFP), Terms of Reference (ToR), Expression of Interest (EoI), grant guidelines, call for applications, or any document that sets out the specific requirements and evaluation criteria for this opportunity. If you have one, upload it. If you do not have one, leave that field blank and we will audit against the selected donor framework only.

What the report includes

1.Executive summary
2.Scored criteriae.g. 7 / 9
One paragraph per criterion explaining the score and the specific gaps reviewers are likely to flag. Criterion 6 compares your proposal text directly against the requirements listed in your RFP or ToR.
3.Gap analysis
Ranked list of structural weaknesses against the selected framework and the uploaded call document.
4.Top risk flag
The single most likely reason for rejection, with the section reference.
5.Rewrite of weakest section
A full rewrite of your lowest-scoring section, ready to paste into your document.
6.Recommended next steps

World Bank

Aligned to the World Bank Operational Policy on Investment Project Financing and the SORT risk scoring framework.

FAO

Aligned to FAO project formulation guidelines and the MOPAN assessment dimensions used across UN system evaluations.

Other donor frameworks on request. Contact info@nateafrica.org to confirm before ordering.

Transparent pricing

USD 1 per page. No hidden fees.

Count the pages in your proposal. That is the price, subject to a minimum of USD 20 and a cap of USD 80. The RFP or ToR you upload is not counted toward the page total.

Price examples

12-page concept note USD 20 (minimum applies)
20-page full proposal USD 20
35-page proposal USD 35
60-page proposal USD 60
80-page proposal USD 80
110-page proposal USD 80 (cap applies)
Maximum you will ever pay $80

Page count is based on the submitted proposal only. Annexes and cover pages count. The RFP or ToR does not. If you are unsure of the count, upload the documents and note your estimated count in the form — we will confirm before charging.

Add-on: 30-minute revision clinic

Revision clinic via Zoom

After receiving your audit report, book a 30-minute Zoom session with a Nate Africa principal. We walk through the findings, answer your questions, and agree on the priority revisions to make before your submission deadline.

✓ USD 120 credited against future proposal writing work if you hire us.

$120 30-min Zoom
Why the credit matters

If you commission us to write or substantially revise your next proposal, the USD 120 clinic fee is deducted from that invoice. The clinic pays for itself when you win the grant.

The process

Four steps from upload to report

Upload your documents

Use the secure upload form below. Upload your proposal (PDF or Word) and, if you have one, the RFP, ToR, EoI, or grant guidelines. Select your donor framework and enter your page count.

Pay to confirm

After uploading, select a payment method and complete payment. The two-hour clock starts when both the upload and the payment are confirmed. You receive an acknowledgement email immediately.

We run the audit

Our team reviews your proposal against all six criteria. Where you have supplied an RFP or ToR, we score your proposal's alignment to that specific call document, not just the generic framework.

Report delivered

Your PDF audit report arrives by email. It includes all six scores, the gap analysis, the top risk flag, and a rewrite of your weakest section. Reply to book the optional Zoom revision clinic.

Common questions

Frequently asked questions

Is this a human review or an automated tool?
Both. The audit uses AI analysis to identify gaps and score each criterion against the framework, and a Nate Africa specialist reviews the output before the report is sent to you. You are not receiving a raw AI output. You are receiving a structured report that has been checked by a practitioner with direct experience of the relevant donor frameworks.
What is the sixth criterion and how is it different from the others?
The first five criteria apply the published evaluation standards of the selected donor framework (USAID, World Bank, or FAO). Those are generic: they apply to any proposal regardless of which specific call it responds to. The sixth criterion, RFP / ToR alignment, is specific to your situation. We compare your proposal text directly against the requirements, mandatory criteria, and priority themes listed in the call document you upload. A proposal can score well on generic design quality but still miss a mandatory requirement in the ToR. Criterion 6 catches that.
Do I have to upload an RFP or ToR?
No. If you do not have a call document — for instance, if you are writing an unsolicited concept note — leave that upload field blank. We will audit against the selected donor framework only and score five criteria instead of six. The price does not change.
What file formats can I submit?
PDF (preferred) or Word (.docx) for both the proposal and the RFP or ToR. Maximum 25 MB per file. Scanned PDFs without a text layer cannot be processed. To check, open the PDF and try to select and copy text. If you can, it will work.
Does the two-hour clock run on weekends?
Yes, within reason. We aim to process orders received before 6 PM EAT (Uganda time) on any day of the week within two hours. Orders received late at night or during public holidays will be delivered first thing the next morning. If your submission deadline is within 24 hours, note it in the form and contact us at info@nateafrica.org to confirm availability before ordering.
Is my proposal kept confidential?
Yes. Your uploaded documents are not shared with any third party. We can sign a non-disclosure agreement before you upload anything — note the request in the form's additional notes field or email info@nateafrica.org and we will return a signed NDA within one business day. Files are deleted from our systems after the report is delivered.
Can I audit a concept note or EoI rather than a full proposal?
Yes. Concept notes, expressions of interest, grant applications, and full technical proposals are all eligible. The minimum price of USD 20 applies regardless of length. A typical 8 to 15-page concept note falls under the minimum and is charged at USD 20.
What does the rewritten section look like?
We identify your lowest-scoring criterion and rewrite the relevant section in your organisation's voice, aligned to the donor framework's language and, where you have supplied one, the specific requirements of your RFP or ToR. The rewrite is ready to paste directly into your document. It uses your project's specific context, objectives, and evidence base.
Can I get audits for multiple frameworks on the same proposal?
Yes. Each framework audit is a separate order. If you need your proposal reviewed against USAID and World Bank criteria, submit two forms and note in the additional notes field that you want both coordinated. We will deliver a combined report and charge once for the page count.
